Polls tighten:

  • Polls have tightened with just over a week to go before the election. Latest Washington Post-ABC News Tracking Poll showed Clinton ahead of Trump 46%-45%. Down from a 12-point lead just a week ago. Article noted Republicans’ growing unity behind Donald Trump has helped to close the gap. However, majority of all voters say they are unmoved by latest Clinton email development. Clinton faring better in latest Reuters/Ipsos poll, which shows her leading 42%-36%. Clinton had 4 point lead a week ago. Politico said battleground map tightening as NBC News/ WSJ/Marist poll revealed Clinton and Trump tied 46%-46% in Florida in a head-to-head race. Trump 4 points ahead there in a Sienna College poll. However, Trump still behind in key states of North Carolina and Pennsylvania. WSJ noted Trump potentially stands to benefit from higher number of Republican-leaning undecided voters, while several other articles (see WSJ, Reuters and NYT) highlighted Clinton’s advantage among early voters
